Who We Are:
The
Pikes Peak Historical Street Railway Foundation, a non-profit
organization, was formed in 1982, and has as its primary mission the
restoration and operation of electric trolleys in Colorado Springs
and Manitou Springs.
We welcome you to our website. Please take a few moments to
learn about the
history
of trolleys in Colorado
Springs, and browse information about the
work we are
doing to
bring trolleys to the Pikes Peak Region. If you would like to join
the Foundation, please see our

complete details.
What's New:
Check out the new trolleys!
The second of two Denver Tramway Company (DTC) cars has arrived in
Colorado Springs. In late June, Mr.
Rob Thaine delivered Denver Tramway Car No. 770 to the Pikes Peak
Historical Street Railway Foundation. He donated the car and charged
only a small fee for transporting the car from Strasburg, Colorado.
Foundation member Fred Brandt of Denver, Colorado, paid for this
move.
The DTC built Car No. 770 in their Broadway Shops in 1926 as a single truck box switcher and placed it into service on November 4, 1926. It served out its operating life at the Broadway Shops next to the old Montgomery Ward warehouse. DTC constructed the car entirely of wood with a canvas covered roof. The car remains structurally in good condition and will be rebuilt as a general service work car.
Both No. 770 and our other DTC trolley, No. 724, are currently located in our north storage yard and available for photographing.
